ISO system restore image avaiable for Touchsmart 320 1030?

$

I used a copy of windows 7 professional to wipe the system because I was giving it away. I have the operating system up but can not access the network card to access the internet.

I've downloaded the drivers on the software page but get the message that the file is not compatible with the system.

I see the recovery disk I can order, but was hoping to find an image of the recovery disk that I can download and burn to a disk myself. Overnight ordering still has a statement about it taking 2 days to process first. Is there another area online that I can get the recovery disk downloaded?

Serial number: (removed content)

Thanks in advance.

squash.fs

My EliteDesk800 has a Toshiba 500 GB harddrive, with Windows 7.

When I formated the HD, I found a 708 mb partition named:

linux loop:filesystem.squash fs

This may be the source of my issue.

My goal is to use TeraByte Image For Windows software to make an image of my computer, stored on a remote USB HD.

The image was made successfully.

To test the image, I formatted the hard drive.

The "linux loop:filesystem.squash fs" remained on the HD.

It appears to prevent me using the TeraByte boot CD to install my image.

What is the "linux loop:filesystem.squash fs" ??

How can I get rid of it?

When I restore the HD (with all its partitions), I will also restore all my files, OS, config, etc.

I have done this several times on my HP EliteBook 8570w laptop.  It's save my bacon.

FYI, to view the HD contents, I used a run-time version of Ubuntu on a Flash drive...using the Ubuntu Disk Utility.

Another question regards drivers.  Can they be installed prior to restoring my image?  (that was not a problem with the 8570w.)

What is Microsoft Up To Now?

Greetings,

I have Win 7 Pro running on a separate SSD.

Also have Win 10 Pro running on a separate SSD.

Disconnected Win 7 about a week ago. It was running perfect.

Used Win 10 Pro until today. Reconnected Win 7 Pro. Having all kinds of strange issues such as cannot get the last set of Win 7 updates and all of a sudden, Windows Media Player is borked. The Music Library is gone and cannot acquire it using "Manage Libraries". The music files are on the SSD. What is up with this?

Not dual booting. there is no logical reason why I am having problems with Win 7 Pro.

I have no other logical explanation as to why I am all of a sudden having issues other than Microsoft is up to something evil.

I have assiduously stopped the Win 10 upgrade process using "Never 10" and GWX Control Panel but have shell files for "Windows-BT and Windows-WS on my system. Recommended updates are off. I choose whether to download and install updates. Or I thought I had this choice.

This is freaking Bu**S**T.

I have had it with Microsh*T!

I am switching to Linux.

Microsoft sucks!!!

Ya know what, what Microsoft is doing now is way worse and egregious than what this evil empire did to Netscape in the 1990's. Where is the DOJ and the antitrust advocates now?

Maybe I am jumping to false conclusions. Maybe my brand new SSD is failing, or my trusty Envy 810-150se is ailing. The system was working fine a week ago and was working fine one hour ago when running Win 10 Pro.

Call me a conspiracy theorist. Something is rotten in Denmark.

I am now going to reimage the system with a recent known good backup created using Paragon.

I will get back to the forum with the results.

Cheers!

Can someone please direct me to the correct driver for the following hardware ID?  Despite downloading from HP website, using the DVD that came with the product amongst other things I simply cannot find the correct driver.

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV15B7&SUBSYS_805E103C&REV_31

I think the &REV_31 is the problem I'm having.

Thanks!

My office recently purchased a 410-017cb, and I can't seem to find any drivers for it. We downgraded the Windows 10 to Windows 7 Pro, so we could use it on our domain.

I upgraded to Windows 10.  My w1907 monitor requires driver support for 1440x900 resolution.  Windows 10 is using the generic display driver for my monitor and it doesn't support 1440x900.  Where can I find a Windows 10 driver that supports 1440x900?

Hello everyone. I have HP Compaq 8000 Elite CMT with Core 2 Duo processor, 8 GB RAM and 250 GB SATA HDD.

I am having a problem with my desktop.

When I boot my computer, it restarts as Windows loading screen appears or sometimes it shows desktop for 2 t0 5 minutes and it reboots.

I also tried:

- Safe Mode (in which computer is running well) but gives same problem after rebooting.

- Launch Startup Repair (not worked for me because PC reboots)

- Fresh OS installation (also not worked for me because PC reboots as Windows loading screen apperas).

- Removed RAMs one by one but problem is still existing.

Somebody kindly tell me what should I have to do else ?? Because now this problem is suckung.

I've scoured the Internet only to find no real fix for my problem.  My computer only boots to the HP Splash screen. Upon running the Diagnostics F9 an error message appeared: error code BIOHD-2.  This code means something different depending on who you ask or where you get your information. I've replaced the HD, results end the same way - Splash Screen Only. I tried to buy a recovery CD since I didnt think to make one ,and was informed by HP  that the Disk was no longer available because my PC is over 6 years old.  I would really appreciate some advice on how to move forward with my computer or if anyone can kindly tell me where I could buy a recovery CD.

RAM upgrade

$

Recently I decided to upgrade my old HP Pavilion PC Model No: UK p6792UK.

The objective was to increase the RAM from the factory level 4GB up to a max. of 16GB which all of the HP literature states is possible.

Having experienced previous problems on HP Pavilions with increasing the RAM I first checked to find exactly what the system had installed via a software package (SPECCY) and it accurately showed 2 slots being occupied and 4GB as the total RAM (the original spec as bought).

I wanted to increase the RAM to the max i.e. 16GB. I purchased 4 modules of  RAM and devised my installation programme.

First I removed just one of the 2GB RAM modules (slot 3)and put in its place one of the new 4GB RAM modules. The system did not work.

Secondly I removed all the RAM modules and just populated one slot (slot 1) with one new 4GB RAM modules. The system  worked and the system software indicated one slot occupied and showed 4GB. This step showed that the new RAM was compatible with the motherboard.

In the next step I populated two slots (slot 1 & 3) with the new RAM. The system worked and showed 8GB of RAM working OK.

The next step was to populate slots 2 & 4 with the new RAM and test. FAILURE.

The issue is HP states that it is possible to increase the RAM up to 16GB on my PC. However when I do this in a very progressive fashion it fails at the last stage.

Do I need to change some settings in the BIOS or Windows 10 to make this work? If so what exactly.

Hope you can help.

Regards

Couple of problems -

(1) Got the HP support assistant downloaded; But it states there are 'no new updates'. When I check the HP website, there are. Why is it not downloading these new updates?

(2) Cannot use the 'Restore point', as it comes as 'error - try again'

I want to replace old hard drive, but can't find recovery file on the HP website

Hello,

The hard drive in my computer has ceased to properly function. Thus, i want to replace it. However, since this is a pre-built computer, it seems that I am limited to the OS provided by you guys. The thing is that I can't find the recovery file on the website or a physical recovery disk on any other website.  Is the physical recovery disk still available for this computer? If not, are there any available alternatives? I understand that one such is purchasing a new OS, but that's a little too pricey, which I think doesn't justify sticking with the PC(it's 5 years old after all). So it would be preferable if the available alternatives aren't so expensive. Thank you.
