Super slow
i bought a HP slim desktop for my wife, It is super slow and I'm trying to figure out why. Here are the list of problems:
1. When I try to add the computer to my HP dashboard it will not accept it. When I try to use the dashboard for support I get an error message.
2. Processor: Intel Pentium Silver 2.00ghz
3. Memory: Samsung 8192 mb ddr4
4. Storage: WD 238.47 gb
Can I add memory and if so how much and what specifically?
It is connected by ethernet cable directly to the router.
Internet speed is: DL 448.6 UP 865.5
I am not a techie so you'll have to dumb it down for me. My wife and I are 70/71. Be easy.

HP P2 Upgrades
A friend gave my son an old PC HP P2 We tried to turn it on and receive an error: No Boot Drive Detected. Not sure what that is. However I know it’s an older model and he wants to do some online gaming with friends. I figured I could change the HDD to a SSD and maybe upgrade the RAM. It comes with 6GB of RAM and a AMD E2-1800 processor. My questions are:
1. Can it be upgraded?
2. Is it worth trying?
3 Is there a better lower cost way to get him a desktop.

Can't install Windows
I encountered a problem installing Windows 10 and 11 after deciding to try Linux. At the beginning of 2024, I decided to switch to a different system, and after some time, I decided to switch back to Windows 10, but I encountered an error: A media driver your computer needs is missing. I tried many options, re-plugged the flash drive into different ports, tried to install the disk drivers from the official website, but the error remained. Please help me solve this problem.

Drivers for Different OSes
Hi HP Community,
I'm reaching out to inquire about the availability of drivers for the HP Pavilion 23-p017c on Windows 7, 8 (non-dot-one versions), and 11. While I understand these operating systems are no longer officially supported by Microsoft, I'm interested in exploring compatibility options due to the system's 4th Gen Intel Core i5 processor. Would HP consider releasing drivers for Windows 7, 8 and 11 for the HP Pavilion 23-p017c, even if limited support is offered? I'm aware that Windows 11 compatibility isn't officially supported due to hardware limitations. While tools like Rufus allow installation with security risks, I understand HP wouldn't prioritize drivers for an unsupported OS.

Trying to Identify Driver on SmartTouch 520-1010
Recently obtained an HP Smartouch 520-1010-UK which has one missing driver which I am not sure what it is, its showing up under Device Manager as H0335C. There were two PCI ones, which i fixed using iObit Driver 11, however it downloaded all the outdated drivers and on reboot it then hung, so i had to a restore to Checkpoing, which worked fine. I then managed to use another app to get it to identify the missing ones, it allowed me to download the missing drivers, but after reboot all errors were gone, but the H0335C remains.
I have got a full set of the drivers for this for Windows 7, 10 and 11, but don't know which one it falls under/category. i tried to research it by the letter/number, but had no luck.
Any advice greatly appreciated!

Forgot password for my HP tower
Forgot my password/PIN to sign into my computer. When I try to reset it, it wants a removable media or a usb flash drive. I don't have either. What ca I do?

HP Slim Desktop - 13 months old - unable to register complaint or speak to anyone in HP.
My 13 month old PC is out of warranty by a small number of weeks.
There does not appear to be any complaints department or anyone that I can speak to regarding my issue.
The PC is dead and does not work.
It would appear my only resort is to pay for a repair on a nearly new PC.
I'm struggling to see how a large company like HP disregards customers in this way.
I have called tech support who couldn't help - they directed me to post sales - they have now directed me to tech support.
It would appear there is no way for me to escalate this issue.

Problems on installing ANY Linux distributions on my PC
I'm trying to install Debian 12.5 from a USB, after that I select it for the boot and that I choose "Graphical install" or the non-graphical one and press enter i have the loading text for about 2/3 minutes, after that the mouse and keyboard don't work anymore in the installation UI where I have to choose languages and the other settings.
If i try to run any different iso of other Linux distributions i have the same problem or the loading text won't continue or just a black screen. I've tested Debian 12.5, Linux Mint (i'm stuck at the HP logo), Kali Linux (same problem where mouse and keyboard don't work), Fedora (just a black screen after launching it) and Pop! OS (the loading text has stopped and won't load anything more). If i try instead to run the Windows 11 iso it works perfectly and i could install it without problems.
I currently have Windows 11 on this pc but i want to install Linux. Every mouse and keyboards that i've tested works well on Windows, on the bios and when selecting the usb for boot. They are plugged directly in the usb port of the pc, not with an USB HUB and I also tried with two different keyboards and mouse but i still have that problem.
In the BIOS i have enabled USB boot and tried secure boot with both enabled and disabled. In the BIOS settings i don't have options like fastboot, PS/2 Emulation or Legacy CSM that i can change.

Restore HP Omen 15-ce027nd to factory settings including omen programs

Folder and Files are missing from desktop.
I have an HP Windows 11 64-bit I7-700 @2.90GHz 32GB memory . Windows had an update the other day and after I updated, I was doing another backup transfer to an external SSD. A handful of files and folders disappeared from my desktop, and any folders left over were emptied. Certain programs I would try to run would give me errors like "Can't run the app on this PC, Check the Store for more info about Notepad".
Notepad doesn't even open. My user account has changed. My username or local account has changed. I had a picture there but it is now gone. I can't even log into the Microsoft account I had as well. Any attempt to click the "Sign In" brings up nothing.
I have run virus scans but nothing. The filing system now is wacky. There are folders in different places as well as files even with different extensions. My external Hardrives backups are pre-dated to January 2024 but I update every month and had a ton of new files and folders since then. Not sure what is going on as everything was working smoothly. If I re-install windows, will I lose anything else? Worse than that, will I have to re-install all my programs again? Blaaaah!
