Can I add a new drive to my HP H9 1033uk Desktop PC and use Recovery to set it up as the boot drive

I have been given a new 2 TB Hard Drive, and would like it as my Boot Drive. How can I set it up as the Boot Drive, if Recovery (my Operating system Back up) is on my existing (pre-installed drive.
