I have HP Pavilion dv6
Now I have troubles with hard disc drive. I suspect that it has some bad blocks.
Unfortunately, I can't even launch Windows and therefore it's not possible to do conventional testing of HDD.
In Asus bios one could find "Advanced" settings, where it is possible to change "SATA operation mode". There are two variants: Enhanced and Compatible. HDD will not be seen by test programs(run from disc) unless you pick "Compatible".
i am 99% sure that it is not possible to do the same in HP BIOS. But I hope that there is at least one more way out.
