I have a Compaq PC that the BIOS does not support USB boot. Checked to see if a firmware update would have it. It was not available. Would it be possible to replace the chip with one that supports USB boot?
My PC is Compaq Presario 061 32bit. Model ED879AA-ABA SR1638NX540

I don't know how many pins on the chip but if need be I can open it up and check.
