After I upgraded to Win8 Pro I made a backup/restore flashdrive just like Microsoft suggested. When my C drive crashed I installed a new one and thought all I needed to do was run the reset option to reinstall the OS. WRONG !!
After selecting my keyboard type, I either get the error message that a disk partiton is missing or the drive is locked, depending on whether I select the restore or refresh option.
Talking to MS support for 45 minutes got me nowhere as the guy told me that I needed a boot file for it to work and then he told me that the OS was not on the drive. What good is a restore drive if it doesn't have a boot file or OS on it?
What do I need for the "reset" option to work? How are you supposed to "restore" anything without a boot file and OS?
