Compaq 100-000ed Windows 7 home premium installation

Hi. I Have been trying to install Windows Home Premium 7 (64 bits) on my 100-000ed.

First I replaced the existing harddrive with another, empty one.

After that I disabled safe startup configuration in the BIOS.

At this point the PC is able to boot from DVD and Windows installation starts.

The text 'windows is loading files' appears and the bar at the bottom is filling up from left to right.

After that, the black screen with text Starting Windows and (c) Microsoft Coorporation at the bottom appears.

So far, so good.. But after a few seconds the text distorts a little bit, I guess due to video driver adjustments.

Then the installation stops, screen freezes and after about 30secs the DVD turns to low speed, and that's it!

I've repeated the installation numerous times, all with the same result.

Does anybody have a clue on how to install Win7 properly?

I know it can be done because Harald Kamps posted a problem concerning network device driver problems after installing Win7 on this PC type.

Any help would be appreciated!

thanks in advance,

Gerben, the Netherlands.
