Installing Win 7 on 110-210 desktop

I recently purchased a desktop 110-210 pc to be an additional light duty station in my office.  We have a Microsoft domain that all workstations log into.  The pc has win 8 64 bit installed.  I'm not ready to introduce win 8 and planned to install win 7 pro on the pc.  When I searched HP support for this model, it indicates that win 7 and 8 are supported.  However, when I attempt to install 7 pro the pc locks up.  It starts loading the initial files from the dvd drive, the progress bar across the bottom of the screen completes, then the windows 7 logo appears in the middle of the screen, the dvd drive continues to spin for a short while and then stops, and the pc is now locked up.  I'm wondering if there is a bios setting that needs to be changed or maybe I need to flash with an earlier bios version.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
