I need answers starting from line one. I just got an HP Pavilion 500-217c with Win 8.1. Didn't really want to do this because my custom multimedia puter with XP pro has been terrific for years and just when I get everything going perfectly I'm told XP is ending (Thanks a lot BG) and I have to buy something else. So here I am.
OK, so maybe it's better that I got an HP that's faster, more memory, more storage, etc but I have tons of data and email I can't use on HP unless and until I can move it all intact from XP to Hp. I know I can't migrate my folders, addresses, 5 email accounts directly as Outlook Express because 8.1 does not use OE. But I need to keep (as much as possible) all my email identity accuracy in folder, addresse, and account data and info that I've accumulated for a decade....and that's a lot.
I just don't understand how that can be done. For example my DSL internet provider has my 5 OE accounts registered as ---------@windstream.net. How on earth can I create 5 new accounts in my HP 8.1 to replace or mirror those accounts so that I don't lose data and identity and don't have to inform hundreds of my contacts I have new account addresses in MS Outlook or whatever? I see stuff on the web to create a new account in Outlook but how does that relate to my 5 OE identities and folders? I hope there's a lot of XP babies like me out there who have good answers for me, and thanks in advance. And no thanks to BG you $%&*@#()^%$!
