HI. I was given a HP pavilion a1710n. It originally had windows vista when purchased. The previous owner did not like windows vista, and had windows xp professional installed instead. I can not get any updates, like xp sp3, because my os is not "genuine". I would like to restore my pc to factory settings, to see if I would get windows vista back. My son said it won't work and that xp will still be there. I need to have a genuine os because my service provider has changed their security to Mcaffe, and I can't install it because of problems with my os. I also have no original discs that came with my pc.
Can I restore my pc to factory settings without problems?
