I have a simple question that I would like a qualified answer to from a HP rep.
I have a dispute with a HP certified service center in Denmark that claim when they exchange a HP system mainboard (HP Compaq 8000 Elite) of a Desktop PC, its NOT required to update the BIOS of the NEW system board with the same verison as the board they replaced.
The company that replaced all in all 3 boards from 3 PS's left very old versions of the BIOS in the NEW boards. (V1.02, V1.07) the latest being V1.13(15.Aug.2011).
The machines run unstable with periodic network failure, but according to the Service Center its not because of the BIOS, amd they claim that because this is not mentioned in the "System Board Replacement Guide" its not required.
Can you please assist in confirming what the HP procedures are for your certified technitians performing hardware replacements to HP computers is to deliver replacement hardware with identical firmware/BIOS as the replaced hardware device.
Thanks.
