Have a friends xw4400 Workstation with Windows XP SP3 installed. I installed HP OEM Windows 7 from the HP installation disc he supplied. Installation went fine and OS works as it should, but Windows 7 does not auto-validate as it should. System properties indicates there are 23 days before the OS must be validated. The Windows 7 Product ID listed is "00426-OEM-8992662-00010"
Would like to know what needs to be done to get Windows 7 validated as it should be? Does it involve BIOS updates, and OS upgrade to Windows Vista before the Windows 7 upgrade, or what?
