We purchased a new HP Pavilion desktop in December 2010.

Model #: p6242f

Product #: AU915AA-ABL

Software Build #: 94NAv6PrA3

Service ID #: 121-809

In 2011 when the PC was still under warranty, we noticed that intermittently the monthly Hardware Diagnostics Test that was supposed to take 10 minutes would reach about 55% then go to sleep for a couple of hours at the Walking One Right test. I asked HP for help and they suggested getting in touch with the tech as it was under warranty. I can't remember what happened next but the situation seemed to resolve itself ...

I never thought that after nearly 4 years I would again be writing about the Hardware Diagnostics Test. For the past 2 months, it has whipped along again until reaching the "Walking One Right" at @55% scanned and then has basically gone to sleep. The retailer Best Buy (and the tech) are no longer in business in our city; we and the PC are now 4 years older. We are not computer experts; in fact we are seniors and aren't up to taking the machine apart to fix components.
