The 1 TB boot drive on my HP P6 is no longer recognized due to absence of Operating System (was Windows7) and boot record. Is there any 1) software stimulated 0r 2) hardware repair remedy which might revive the drive? The drive will power up but does not read any system repair app fed on CD. All power usb ports also suspended.
Secondly, this drive is also home to all my program files and applications. Are any back up files routinely saved to another drive i.e., the 3 TB exterenal drive also connected. If yes, what directories should I be looking into? My solution thus far has been to purchase another HP computer, this newer one is a P7. I'd like to transfer any files and apps which might have been saved to any other drive than the failed boot drive. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
