Unspecified error during system restore 0x80070002 (used a different restore point and it worked)
Error Code BIOHD 4 (This appeared on two occassions however the computer boots with F4 in Boot menu)
There have been no additions made to the computer for several months however there was a power outage that shut the computer down just before this started.
When booting the computer goes to the first blue screen where you have the option to press Esc for boot menu, F9 for Dianostic etc. The boot then fails and asks for a bootable disk.
To repair this issue I have used the repair disk and or F8 to access the various repair options. I have used repair start up, system restore, as well as the bootrec /fixboot and bootrec /fixmbr commands. These have worked to manage to get the computer to boot however when a reboot was required I was back to square one. When using the start up repair from both disk and HD there would be a report that there were no start up issues or that start up issues had been repaired however sometimes it would boot and sometimes it would not.
If the boot is a restart then most of the time it will reboot properly. However if the computer is shut down for more than a minute it will not boot.
I now boot the computer by using the escape key at start up and enter the boot menu. I then use the F4 key to reset the boot menu to default and the PC boots and works well. The boot menu it lists the HD first, the DVD second and the Real tek DXEB03 D00 as third. ( Not sure what this last item is.)
Any help in fixing this so I do not have to reset the boot menu to default at each boot would be appreciated.
