I have a client that had HP Drive Encryption enabled, and intermittent boot problems. I turned off encryption in the Windows program and rebooted, and the system blue-screened on startup after entering the user password at the encryption authentication screen. After that Windows startup recovery ran, and seems to have replaced the drive encryption bootloader (WinMagic) with the standard Windows boot loader, so now the authentication screen doesn't appear and Windows can't boot. I can't find any information about how to repair the WinMagic bootloader or any sort of recovery disk. I've got to find a way to at least recover the data if I can't restore normal operation entirely.
