I have just replaced my ageing PC with a nice new HP Pavilion p6-2480ea with 64bit windows 8. Very satisfied with the PC but window 8 has been a nightmare, my old system was windows xp.
One reason I went for HP PC was my printer and scanner were also HP and thought connecting them would be easyier,WRONG!!!!
Have managed at last to connect the printer but not the scanner a Scanjet 4850, the istalation disc is only for XP or before.
I have contacted HP tech support and they think it cant be connected !!!! I'm hoping somebody out there might have the solution as I dont want to dump a perfecty good scanner.
