I am unable to access Mediasmart server!!! I had windows home server but something happened and now i don’t have whs!!! i have been trying for the last 2 weeks to try and fix this problem with the connector and i am so frustrated. My os is windows 7 ultimate. I also have a mac os x mountain lion and apple time capsule. At this stage i am ready to pitch the lot and transfer everything to apple. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Eureka! I have managed somehow to access the network files from the mediasmart server and am currently in the process of backing up my C drive...Whew! To many tweaks with firewalls, pinholes, dns resolution etc to say exactly what did the trick but now I have a new question...
If I reinstall Windows Home Server software and then the connector it should all work now right? The problem I was having before was that when I went to install the connector, the process would fail in the end because Windows was unable to find the mediasmart server. Now that it seems to know where it is, should I continue on after the backup and reinstall WHS? Or should I just leave well enough alone?
