My old PCm7160n won't boot because of an error that says that I have a corrupted system32 config. It does not specify a particular file. I am running Windows XP. I understand that I have recovery data onboard vice a CDROM. Can I recover without reformatting the hard drive and if so, how?

I did see this when I tried to use recovery without reformatting the hard drive: ***STOP: 0x00000024 (0x001902F8, 0xF67812CC, 0xF6780FCC, 0x804671CD)
