I turned my pc on this morning and I got the error message. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. etc.
I have tried starting in Safe Mode, Safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, Last known good configuration and start windows normally all of these just come back to this original screen. I have not added hardware or software, and everything was fine when I turned off last night, there was a power cut which may have stopped the pc before it had time to shut down normally, whilst in the middle of a software update from Microsoft.
I have a Windows XP disc but Its not finding it in the CD rom drive on start up.
I would be grateful on any suggestions please.
