There are several tools installed on a new PC when I get it out of the box. I.e. the recovery manager or other pre-installed tools.
My understanding is as follows:
If I at any point in time I replace the installed harddisk with a completely NEW empty harddisk (no partitions), I should be able to re-install all software, including pre-installed tools and special partitions with the provided DVD's that came with the system.
Is that correct?
What I see is that if I re-install a system this way (OS install AND Driver install DVD), it seems that at the end, some tools are missing. How comes?
Additional question:
I receive with each HP PC several DVD's. In this case I have a "Operating System DVD Windows 8.1 Pro" and a "Driver Recovery DVD, Windows 8.1".
If I would create the recovery DVD's from a running Windows 8.1 system from HP, would I get the exact same DVD content?
I ask this because so far, I was not able to create the recovery DVD's since both systems I got never started (bluescreen and reboot loop). So I was never able to create the recovery DVD's.
