this operating system I find difficult to use. Was on windows 7 but decide to upgrade, what a mistake. Built in app for purchases, 30 day trials of office etc the you have to purchase.
E mail is difficult to set up, where is the contact list etc .
Thoroughly displeased, can I get a free revert back to 7 on this machine?
I am quickly running out of storage on my hard drive and would like to either add a hard drive or change the original. After combing through the product manual I am as lost as ever. It sound from the manual that this is not an expandable system. However I beleive I could change the hard drive that is in this to a larger hard drive. I have a recovery cd and from what I have read all I would have to do is partition the new drive once I install and turn the computer back on. Am I at least close to right?
I recently purchased a new HP Slim Desktop 260-a010 computer and have only had it a few days. To date, the majority of updates installed fine, but this one I'm asking about is being a problem. I have made 3 attempts to get it to install, with each attempt taking longer than 3 hours !! This is a ridiculous amount of time for something like this to complete it's installation !! What can be done to correct this problem?
I recently received a computer from a friend. I also performed a clean install of Windows 7 with the in-built HP recovery image. Everything installed fine. I later, however, noticed that the HP EULA stated (rather ambiguously) that the "initial user" has the right to give the computer away to another user (this is called, in section 4 of the EULA, a transfer). The agreement further states that the transfer must include such things as documentation, media, components, etc. So here's my problem.
I have no idea how to wrap my head around the wording of this agreement. Who exactly is the initial user? Let me explain for a second. Since my friend gave me the computer, he's the initial user. But now that I own the PC, am I now the new initial user? If not, do I not have the right to transfer the PC, seeing as I would not be the "initial" user?
Furthermore, I did NOT receive any of the PC's documentation, media, components, etc. I ONLY received the tower containing the HP recovery image of Windows 7 and a monitor. So let me ask, seeing as "the transfer must include these things," does that mean these things must be physically present when the transfer is made, or does it mean that the OWNERSHIP of these things is ALSO included with the transfer?
I've attempted to contact HP, but I've been unable to find/contact a legal department for asking general questions about the EULA. So I decided to ask here. I apologize if this is the wrong forum to ask such questions.

Major Problem (urgent right now and not solved yet): My Windows 10 need to be activated even though the OS is pre-installed on my desktop PC. The notification appears after i reset my desktop PC HP 110-194 to clean it. I don't have the product key ( it was pre-installed ), it says "Windows can't activate right now. Try activating again later. If that doesn't work contact your system administrator. Error code: 0x8007232B" every time i try to activate from Settings.
Minor Problem/Bugs: Start menu and Search sometimes broken didn't pop up.
Caroline from premium support department didn't wish to help me or try to understand the issue I was facing with. Such people should not work at customer service department.

I have a HP Envy 23 and recently upgraded to Windows 10 and now have the black screen issue which I can see is very common.
As soon as the machine is powered up I have a black screen. Neither the mouse or keyboard are working so cannot try the fix of typing in the password and trying to log in.
There is no HDMI input/output so I cannot attach another monitor without purchasing a VGA to USB adapter.
Would anyone know of a fix for this?

I just upgraded my Hp DC7700. I was able to get all the drivers except for the PCI SERIAL PORT and PCI SIMPLE COMMUNICATIONS CONTROLLER that are missing. above are the hardware ids of the two missing drivers
I have checked the HP drivers download page but could not find anything. The only drivers I saw were for windows Xp and vista which I tried downloading and installing but got error message that it does not support the operating system.
I have done windows update, yet the drivers are still missing.
Kindly help me because as it is now, I cannot instal any printer on my system. I have HP printers (Laserjet 1200, 1320 and CP1515) that I needed to instal on the system.

Windows Security Updates and general Updates:
The latest Windows Updates download and install successfully. But on checking the list of installed updates it is apparent that some updates keep downloading and installing. I would have thought that once an update has downloaded and installed it should some how clear from the system.
How do I know this is happening? I check on the update history page and the serial number applied to each update appears a number of times on different dates.
Anyone know what is happening here and how I can resolve the issue - if there is an issue?

The saga continues. My three to four month old Pavillion died and I went through hours talking or trying to talk to Tech services. Really had a hard time understaning them. Continuously asked for in home service like I thought I would be getting when I purchased the 3 day in home Care Package. Each Tech said that they could not give me in home service ? Promised a call back, never came. Promised an email with contact info and that never came. Did get a private email to my community post from Jeff Christopher, HP Exec. Customer Service asking that I respond and answer his questions however I was instructed to respond by logging into the community, I did but where is Jeff, can't find him. Super Customer Service isn't it. I really, really, really regret buying an HP.
Hi all, i am new here. Recently i have encountered with an issue on Z640 workstation whereby the computer's clock, date and time both jumping backwards to a fixed pattern. Eg: 16/6/2016 10.20AM.
This workstation is connected to a switch. NTP is configured and logged on with DNS account.
While troubleshooting the issue, below are what i have done:
- Manually set the date and time but it only last for awhile before it goes back to the wrong date and time
- Workstation rebooted but to no avail
- Changed date and time in BIOS page but the correct date and time only last for awhile upon logging on to windows
- Unplugged the network cable to isolate from the network, manually change the date and time but it still jumping backwards after awhile.
- This is a brand new workstation which has been operating for few months, CMOS battery should not be dead
Currently i am still investigating this issue, while i appreciate for all your input and advises.

We have faced a serius - show stopper problem with one of my customers.
They have purchased HP All-in-One - 24-g004nt(W3E71EA) AIO PC.
At the last step of the installation step of windows 7 OS, user name and computer name input screen, keyboard and mouse is suddenly not responding.

I am about to use the recovery discs that I burned when I took delivery of my PC. C drive has become a mess and the best way I can see is to format and re-install using the said discs.
The help files detailing this state that any "recently installed" hardware should be removed. Am I right in assuming that recently actually means any as I have a USB3 card and a graphics card installed about 12 months ago and this is hardly "recent"?
