Trying to repair my friends HP Pavillion a6537c. It had a faulty power supply. After replacing that I cannot get any sound
out of the speakers or the headphone outputs. When trying to play CD there is a error message "Windows\system32\netprofm.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Have tried running a sfc /scannow and it saw an error but, wasn't able to correct it. After viewing help on line and watching a couple of videos I'm beginning to belive this
task is above my abilities. I tried doing a restore to a time before the P.S. died and a repair but neither one helped. I have
checked the drivers on Realtek HD audio and they show everyting to be working. Made sure the Sound setting are going
to the speakers and not the Headphones.
Any ideas? I'm just about out. Without someones help I'm afraid I will make things worse than "no Sound" everything else
appears to be working okay.
I know this is kinda lenghty but, it's info on what I have covered.
Thanks Grego
