I'm frustrated as hell and ready to throw in the towel with my PC.
HP Computer
Pavilion p6000 series
Processor: AMD Athlon™ IIx4 635 2.90GHz
RAM: 4.00 GB
Sys type: 64-bit
Here's the scoop:
One day last week, I was using my pc, a message came up saying that it had done an auto update and I had to reboot it for the updates to take effect so I did. It would not restart again. I tried & tried. I tried rebooting with a copy of Windows 7, tried repairing with W7, tried everything I could throw at it. NOTHING!!!!!
Friday night:
I put my hard drive in my wife's new pc so I could backup all my stuff into my new 3 TB external hd. Her computer showed my hd was empty; should of been about 500 GB of stuff in it. **bleep**? I put it back in my pc and installed a fresh copy of W7 without formatting the hd. All installed good; showed thas 2 updates were available so I started the download & installation. While that was happening, I started re-installing some apps. It the showed I had to reboot; I did and same problem!!!!!! Tried everything I could, repair, reboot, fix, bla bla bla all from the W7 disk. Nothing. 1 am by now so I left it for Saturday.
Saturday & Sunday:
Tried to re-install W7 but would not let me; kept getting an error about having to "Enable (I forget what) in BIOS. So I went in BIOS for countless times trying to find it and couldn't. Did lots of research online with my old 10 yr old pc (super slow), found the same problems but no answers. I went back in BIOS and clicked "reset to default". After that I inserted the disk and formated drive C & the partition D. I then decide to delete partition D and made a new partition no problem and then W7 installed with no problems at all. Did 138 updates this time. Before rebooting, I did a Sys Restore date and successfully made a repair disk. I did a Reboot and same F'N bleep. Did all the same steps, went in BIOS, reset to default, format etc..., installed no problem again, updates & rebooted no problem this time. GREAT!!!! Rebooted again to make sure and was successful. I left it at that.
Monday night:
Checked the pc, blank screen; tried reboot and nothing again. **bleep**? but I wasn't surprised by now. I put the repair disk in and somewhere in one of the error # 7, it showed "NOosInstalled" **bleep**, that means the hd in empty again.
Today:
I installed a new 1 TB HD, installed W7, all went good, rebooted 4 times after to make sure all was good, shut it down and restarted good. Did 156 updates; would not restart again except in Safe Mode which is the mode I'm in right now. When I try to restart Normal mode, the Microsoft animation does it's thing then Microsoft logo comes up and that's it; can't go any further.
Can someone help, please?
Thanks
