I believe the last windows update screwed up my sound on this computer:
HP Touchsmart 520
Windows 7 Home Premium - 64 bit
No sound from the IDT program. Get error messge from the volume control that there is no sound device installed. In device manager under the properties I see: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
Researched some and removed the high filers in the regestry with no success.
Unstalled the device and rebooted, same problem.
Windows update flags an important update for the IDT device but will not update, gives the following code: 80070103 windows update encountered an unknow error.
Anyone have any ideas please..
This is my wife's computer and I have to leave in a week and I dont want to leave it w/out sound.
