Posting this as a solution that others may find useful
My Related Ticket Number for support if they need it is (300 364 5793)
The software Corel graphics suite x4 corrupts the registery entry by denying read privlages for just one of the entries preventing the Apps from loading they start and fail to complete.
Tech support initially had me re-install windows! from scratch!! Only for me to find myself in the same problem hours later after installing Corel x4.
I found the fix hopefully ohters will find this fix useful for other software that could do this also!
fix:
Fixing registry permissions that have been changed manually
- Open regedit.exe
- Right click on HKEY_Users and select properties
- Make sure that All Application Packages has Read
- Repeat for HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
- Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Check the subkeys HARDWARE, SAM,SOFTWARE,SYSTEM. Make sure that All Application Packages has the Read permission.
