Boring stupid story:
I work at a local pawn shop and we also run an ebay store out of the place. Some of the people aren't the brightest.
We have a HP Pavilion A6400Z that origionally came with Vista Home Basic.
Apparently at some point they thought it was too slow so they took an acer recovery disk and put XP on there. It has no drivers / whatnot.
I put vista home premium back on there to see how it would perform, and it works ok. The recovery partition is surprisingly intact, with all the HP Preload files on there.
What I need to do:
I only have a vista home premium disk, and would like to factory restore using the recovery partition that is still there.
Pressing F11 at boot does not enter recovery mode, I need to get the HP Recovery Manager software, or find a file on the recovery partition that will do that for me.
