Hello HP world,

I don't know much about graphic card but I have decided to upgrade my current card. I found  Nvidia GTX 1050, but I am still unsure of whether the gtx 1050 is physically and virtually compatibale with my Hp Pavillon p6218f. So I am hoping in this forum I can get help from advanced pc users to enlighten me ony my choice.

The main reason for my upgrade is to have better gaming and video quality that is up to date with today's standards, at least to a minimum (Like to play destiny 2).

any idea why system will not reboot? Hardware issue? Compatibility issue? Software?

nb am system user not technician, please excuse ignorance of basic terminology/ concepts

So I don't use this PC everyday but about a week ago there was a system update that seems to have updated fully. I used it twice more. This last time when I shut it down for the night, it wouldn't shut down so I pressed the button to force it to shut down. Today I  turned on the PC. It loaded normally and got to the point with the log in picture. I clicked on the mouse. Nothing. Clicked on the keyboard. Nothing. I can't bring up the password 'box'. I've pressed the power button to try to restart in safemode but can't because of the keyboard.   I've tried a different keyboard and a different mouse. I've also tried different ports. Nothing works. Any suggestions?

HELLO EVERYONE...... I HAD AN OMNI-27-1180ea desktop which had an AMD RADEON HD 7450A ( 109-CO7751-10) GRAPHIC CARD WHO STOPPED WORKING... IM LOOKING FOR REPLACEMENT AND ONLY I CAN FIND IS AN  AMD RADEON 7450A ( 109-C07751-20 ).... IM HESITANT TO BUY IT FOR CONCERNING IT MIGHT NOT BE COMPATIBLE WITH MY HP DESKTOP.. The power light turns on makes 3 beep also the lights stays on fan makes 3sec noises loud then regular noise light stays on no screen response but if holding the power button for 5 second light turns on fan makes noise then turns off while holding the power button still no screen response.please need instructions on fixing this. I have the Windows 7 Pro OA version. I would like to run 64 bit instead of the 32 bit. My computer can handle the 64 bit. How do I go about doing this with no discs? Recovery partition is only 32bit.

Good evening, I own an old HP p6231it with Windows 7 operating system, I bought a hard disck ssd and I wanted to replace it with my old hart SATA disck, can I recover the DVD of my original operating system from HP to my computer?

I tried to look on the microsoft site but when I give the ProdKey tells me that it is not valid because the copy manager is the computer manufacturer, in this case I think it is Hp

I have tried the screen settings and the tower settings, but am unable to get rid of the letter box formatt that is on my screen. This fomatt is even there when using explorer, so I have to keep changing the setting from 50% to 75% depending on what I'm doing. Because of this I can't even register office. I'm wondering if the issue could be my monitor which is a 10 year of flat screen tv.

I have no clue what to do, my computer got stuck in a restart/recovery loop. blue screen. cant do anything, cant recover from recovery, had to order discs,  error in  recovery tools( rita-tool)  have the 1;5 disc in right now and it doesnt do anything. I keep restrting the computer but it keeps going into the recovery repair loop. what am I suppose to do?

This just happened  last week on sunday,when the computer is suppose to restart and do what ever it is suppose to do. woke up to a broken computer. it was updated ot windows 10 which is what I have read is the whole proble wiht this error. ( found back in 2015 but I didnt know about this frakked up problem to fix it before hand)  PLEASE HELP !!  once again I am STUCK at the blue screen and cant navagate anywhere, cant even start it in safe mode. Здравствуйте, у меня компьютер HP ENVY Phoenix h9-1300er, купил я видеокарту Radeon HD7850, попробую поместить в компьютер, но при заупске крутятся все вентиляторы на процессоре и видеокарте, но изображения на экране нет. При включении слышны 6 звуковых сигналов. Видеокарта точно рабочая, проверял на другом ПК. Пожскажите в чем проблема? Пожалуйста!

Long time reader, first time poster.
I have an odd problem that I have trouble even describing but here goes.

I will be writing such as I am right now when it appears that my keyboard stops working, I get a noise like a notification when I press the keys but nothing else is input, the same happens when I am scrolling on my mouse.
When I left click onto what I am doing the issue resolves iteslf for a while and I can continue what I was doing.

This is not a consistent problem everytime I switch on but it seems as if something is affecting where my "focus" is, that about describes my problem in the best way I can, like something has popped up but I can't see it. AVG throws up no viruses and I am at a loss to understand what is going on.

I have tried the following "fixes"

1. Switching it off and on (sometimes this works other times not)
2. Changed the USB cables around in different ports

3. Shouting at it and uninstalling the USB controllers in Device Manager

Any and all help is truly appreciated

I am trying to do windows restore or recovery either from the d drive or from a disk.

When I get to the opening screen, which allows me to check whatever kind of installation I want to do, I cannot select anything on the screen, as neither my keyboard nor my mouse work. I have both wireless and wired (ps2) keyboards and mice available, and neither will work. I've done this before without a hitch; what has changed since then? Is it maybe the bios update I did a while ago?

I wanted to update from Wi 10 Vers. 1703 to 1709/Fall Creators update, but impossible:
Error: 0x80070057 - 0x3001A Error in Begin_first_Boot (Pre first boot).
I did: uninstall Security-Progr(F-Secure) and some other programs, change Registry (IsConvergedUp..and UX-Opt set 0 instead 1), deactivate USB,Internet.., Bios-update, clean boot, stop Firewall..
Tried installation as Wi-update or with Win10 Update Assistant or download and install from USB-Stick, all the same error.
In former times I had problems with HP-Software, therefore Device Access Manager is not activated.
Hope somebody can help me
